Viking - a virtual business park for Europe

A project to seek European funding for the creation of a virtual business park across Europe, and to manage the development of the project. At the request of Scottish Enterprise, Lambda developed a funding bid, to support the creation of a virtual business park to serve the needs of the software industry in countries in the Northern periphery of Europe. The aim was to encourage software businesses to work together more collaboratively, and to encourage European software businesses to compete in the global arena.

The funding bid was successful, and secured over £1 million for the project.

The implementation, led by the Scottish Software Federation and involving four other countries (Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Northern Ireland) proceeded, with the management of the project being provided by Lambda during the early stages, to get the project off the ground, and established with appropriate project resources.
