Public access to the Internet in Scotland
A study of the extent, and nature, of projects in Scotland which provide public access to the
Internet. The project involved a first stage of identifying the relevant organisations to contact, designing and administering a questionnaire of the projects, and undertaking a detailed analysis of the results. The project has identified over
1100 public internet access projects and sites in Scotland, some targeting the public in general, with others targeting those with particular needs. Key points to emerge were the extent to which uncertainties over funding limit the growth and
development of these sites, and the limited extent to which individual projects learn from each other. Contract value: £10,000 - £24,999 Completed: 2001 Publication: Internal report to The Scottish Executive
